What does the inspection involve?

The inspection takes 2-3 hours plus the time for the associated paperwork. It is a comprehensive mechanical and electrical fitness inspection. We inspect fuel and exhaust systems, all electrical, braking, powertrain, driveline, steering, suspension, systems, wiring and lights, tires, glass, wipers and defrosters. The frame and body are inspected for evidence of poorly repaired collision damage. The standards to pass the inspection are set out by the Government of Alberta and Canyon Meadows Auto Service expert technicians follow the government requirements exactly as they are laid out.

What happens if my vehicle does not pass the inspection?

Most of the time it is just minor repairs that are required like lights being out and what not that can be fixed the same day. Failures are documented and a passing certificate will be issued immediately after the inspection is considered to be a pass. Depending on the extent of what is required, the customer has 10 days to have the re inspection completed or a new request form will be required from the registration office.
